Great article. It's sad to hear Villareal go down but they were mismanaged and they really suffered with injuries and selling Santi. It was like last year when Deportivo de La Coruna were sent down. It looks like Deportivo will get 1st or 2nd place in Segunda Division to return to La Liga. I hope Celta de Vigo also ascend. Alcorcon, the 3rd division team that beat Real Madrid in Copa del Rey, might ascend to La Liga if they win in the qualification playoffs.

That makes sense. I check espn and goal.com usually and both have committed major errors. I checked marca.com and they have it based on matchup. I had a feeling it was based on head2head but since they didn't have it laid out pre-set it would've taken a nice effort to look at all the matchups between places 4-10 in la liga.

Spain is not decided on goal difference, but rather Head-to-Head matchups. Levante lost to Mallorca 1-0 and tied 0-0 so Mallorca has the head-to-head advantage.

Levante have certainly been the biggest surprise of the season. Also, they are actually in 6th as they have a +1 goal difference whereas Mallorca has a -1 goal difference.

Well, I don't know how many of the things you mentioned in the article are still defendable. Only 2 months after the article, Espanyol is no longer 5th in the League, it has been accused of arranging results, its debts don't allow the club to pay for players and employers salaries. But (or because ?) they built a wonderful new stadium

I have season's jersey and I loved it. Sometimes simplicity is the best thing. This year's jersey worked great as well. These jerseys for next season seem wierd. The home jersey is ok (at best and the away jersey is kind of wierd. Green???? Why would they get a green alternate jersey? Blue would've been interesting and better than green. GREEENNN???????/

Well things will be interesting for sure. I think VDB will have a very interesting choice on defense. I think he'll either go Alba, Pique, Ramos, Arbeloa or Alba, Pique, Javi Martinez, Ramos. There is a chance Iraola could make the team. Do we even need to talk about the midfield, it's stacked. As for CF - I think Llorente is a lock to make the team. Villa will most likely sit out. Now, there are 5 interesting CFs: Raul, Soldado, Torres, Negredo, Adrian Lopez. I think Raul doesn't get picked due to age, however, age hasn't stopped him playing with Schalke. Negredo isn't bad but I think he doesn't get picked due to Sevilla's horrible season. Adrian Lopez is too inexperienced. Now, here is where I think the real battle will occur. Soldado is the heart and soul of Valencia. He has been solid. Only blemish is Valencia losing against eventual Europa League champs Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals. Torres has played horrible in BPL but has improved lately and has played quite well in UCL. He has looked far better in the past 2 months and VDB could ride the hot hand.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Valencia, Malaga, Atletico Madrid or Sevilla get Michu in the summer, especially if Rayo get relegated.

I've also heard that many teams are interested in Rami. Nesta might retire soon in Milan. Anywho, it will be interesting to see what Valencia does next.

Even though it is still very close, Malaga CF were very impressive this season. With a win on the weekend they ensure 4th place in La Liga. In the future Valencia will have to challenge a Malaga CF side who have a pretty good squad already, a solid coach and financial muscle. I thought Malaga would have a tough time making the top 6 this year. They still might not but they control their destiny. They do face a Gijon team that are facing relegation. However, lots of things would have to go right for Gijon to stay in La Liga.

However good Emery was, he lost the dressing room and when you lose the dressing room you have to leave, simply as.
A change was needed that much was clear but I do agree that the Mestalla crowd booed him undeservedly at times. But they also booed or actually whistled the players and called them mercenaries, so they didn't just blame Unai. And for as far as I know a lot of fans thanked him for his time at the club.
It will be interesting to see how Pellegrino will do, remember this Valencia side can match Madrid and Barcelona on any given match-day so they do have a lot of potential o
if they are motivated.
I do trust Pellegrino because Llorente is not the type of person that would make a haste decision so he obviously impressed him enough to get the job.
I personally expect them to move along the same way but a little bit better and they have to if they plan on closing the gap and stay ahead of the rest.
